A-ha is among the artists featured on a forthcoming album of rare remixes from the Canadian Hi-Bias label. The twelve-track album, the second in the 'Retroactive' series features ten remixes that have never been previously released on CD and will be released on May 10th. On 1st march 2002 Savoy won in Oslo the Spellemannsprisen for the best pop group.
a-ha got the secound place with Take on me (1984) for the best norwegian hit,

The new a-ha album will come out the 29th april 2002 in Norway and is called Lifelines. The first single will be Forever not yours and will come out the 2nd april 2002. The release date for Germany and other countries (f.e. France, Spain, Brazil, Japan, ...) will be similar to the date in Norway. From the 22th february on the new single Forever not yours will be played in the radio in Germany.

A-ha have nearly finnished their work on the new album and had a photo session in january 2002 - which took place in the Oslo Nye Teater - to make photos for the new album cover and for press material. The photos are made by the german photographer Olaf Heine. Olaf Heine had already made pictures of many other famous persons like f.e. Bon Jovi, Sting, Nina Hagen. In a norwegian articel about the Quart Festival (watch the link) - which will take place this summer in Norway - is written that the chance that a-ha will be on stage there is small. "Men muligheten for A-ha er liten". It is said that international bands are paid not good enough there. But the decision is not fixed yet and in any way the festival would be a good possibility for a-ha to promote their new album also in their home country Norway.You can read all the news about the festival here.

The christmas album of the norwegian choir Sølvguttene is called Sølvguttene synger julen inn. The album.was released on 26th November 2001 and Morten perform the song Mitt hjerte alltid vanker.

a-ha will perform 2 songs at the Nobel Peace Prize concert on 11th december 2001. The ballade Hunting high and low and a new song called Differences. Magne said to the song: “This isn’t really a song, it’s more like a shout for help - well, not really a shout, more like a croak."A documentary about the women in Afghanistan inspired Magne to write this song. The film is called Beneath the Veil. The song will not be found on the new a-ha album and a single release is also not planed.

Last Saturday (27th october 2001) the Adventure of the Seas had its maiden voyage. The ship is 311 meters long. About 4000 passengers and a crew of 1185 persons can be on the ship at the same time. The shipping company Royal Carribean Cruise Lines (RCCL), which is in norwegian hands for 25%, spent a lot of money to make the cruise ship as luxurious as possible. No less than 74 million norwegian kroner were spent only on art. Magne is one of the 27 artists represented. His work Axiom is a series of gigantic glass paintings, eleven storeys high! "I think that the images work really well," Magne says. "There are many things present here that cry for attention, so it's important to 'steal' a room which defines its own personality. Those images are not exactly subdued, and were created to make some 'noise'."

A calendar called Norske Menn 2002 (Norwegian Men 2002) is published by the norwegian red cross. Morten is on the cover and on the january 2002 page.

Each of the norwegians is featured with a picture and a message (what they think and find important in the red cross) and they joined the project for free. Part of the profit will go to humanitarian aid.

On 11th december 2001, the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert will take place at Oslo Spektrum. a-ha have confirmed that they will one of the artists and they will play probably two new songs. Other announced artists are Paul McCartney, Natalie Imbruglia, Wyclef Jean, Youssou N'Dour and opera singer Russell Watson. The show will be hosted by actors Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson and will be shown worldwide and is already sold out.

Morten will be one of the solists on a new Christmas album, which will be released in Norway. Producer Svein Gundersen from Ski has been working on five different albums for Christmas 2001. One of those is an anniversay album by Sølvguttene, a Norwegian choir which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The occasion calls for a special album with organ, harp, choir and many guest solists, like Morten Harket, Sondre Bratland, Jørn Hoel, Ole Edvard Antonsen, Erik Bye, Steinar Ofsdal, Benedicte Adrian and Jan Werner.
The album was recorded in the Uranienborg church and in the studio.

Because of the terrorist attacks in New York and the USA, Pal and Lauren couldn't come to the Hit Awards on 15th september 2001 in Oslo, because all flights were cancelled. Magne performed his song Dragonfly at the Hit Awards and Morten gave a price to Briskeby.
